# Users vs Creators (what’s the difference?)

Everyone on Aardvark starts as a **user**.

Creators are simply users who choose to unlock creator tools.

There are no separate account types.

Users can:

* Follow creators
* Unlock creator deals
* Install and use the browser extension
* Discover brands and creators
* Shop normally while seeing deals automatically

Most people will only ever be users — and that’s perfectly fine.

#### Creators

Creators are users who have completed creator onboarding and enabled a plan.

In addition to everything users can do, creators can:

* Add and manage their own deals
* Create a Link-in-Bio page
* Track deal performance and analytics
* Control how and where their deals appear

Creators never lose access to user features.

* **Users** unlock deals by following creators
* **Creators** unlock tools to publish and manage deals

#### Do I need to become a creator?

No.

If you want to save money and support creators you trust, being a user is all you need.

Becoming a creator is only for people who want to share deals with their audience.
